A beautiful blend of chickpeas, tahini sauce, lemon and garlic. Perfect to serve with warm Pita or any middle eastern breads.
How to make a Tahini sauce?
You can use hulled white sesame seeds to make the Tahini dip. All you have to do is grind the sesame seeds using a food processor until smooth. You can use olive oil to give a smooth texture.
- 250g Chickpeas soaked overnight (Or you can use Canned)
- 2tbsp Tahini
- 3tbsp extra virgin olive oil
- Juice of half a lemon
- 1 clove of garlic
- Salt to taste
Soak the chickpeas overnight or atleast for 7 hours.
Cook the chickpeas and drain the excess water. If using canned chickpeas, rinse and drain the excess water.
Combine all the ingredients in a food processor and blend until you get a smooth texture.You can adjust the seasoning and texture as you like. For a rich creamy texture, add more olive oil.
You can store the hummus upto a week if refrigerated in a sealed container.
