A sassy vegetable stir fry using bell peppers, carrots, cauliflower, fresh green peas, onions, cabbage stir fried in sesame oil and seasoned with soy sauce.
- 500g cauliflower / broccoli florets
- 1/2 cup fresh green peas
- 1 red onion sliced
- 1 carrot cut into julienne/thin slices
- 1 red bell pepper cut into julienne
- 2tsp chopped garlic
- 2tbsp dark soy sauce
- 3tbsp sesame oil
- 1tsp dried basil leaves to garnish
- 1tbsp honey
- Salt to taste
Prepare the cauliflower for blanching. Cut them into florets Place the cauliflower, green peas in a sauce pan of boiling water and cook for a minute. Drain and rinse with cold water. Drain it again and keep it aside.
Heat a large wok and set it on high heat. Add sesame oil and add the chopped garlic first to infuse the oil with garlic flavour. Now add the blanched cauliflower, green peas, carrots, bell peppers and onion. Stir fry on high heat for a minute. Add the honey, soy sauce and salt and give it a quick stir.
Remove it from heat and garnish with fresh or dried basil leaves. Serve over rice or eat it as side salad.
